Fists losing sand, the burning of rocks - stones disappear in the arguments of gods

Living room diminished piece by piece - collateral damage, hollow words beyond an excuse
Surviving the bombs in two hours of peace - words of faith and rules of war are suffering abuse

Abuse - suffering misuse - so violent, though obtuse

Seventy years of increasing holy war - human rights drifting further offshore

Utterly betrayed by a slithering snake - blinded by hate and persisting in rage
Pushing the limits for what is at stake - walls all around, transforming the cage

Truce after truce is brutally harmed - propaganda in a multi-layered war
